Community Update

Business Development

ABT are working on the following tasks with our project partners to improve our current plans and strategies to enable project delivery;

  • Updating our existing Business Case to reflect current trends and a changing economic landscape

  • Preparing a new Business Plan that will provide a sound operational framework and enable us to achieve ACNC Tax Deductible Gift Recipient Status

  • Engaging Ecologists to get underway with the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (Review of Environmental Status)

  • Expanding the ABT Board of Directors to add diversity and enhance our experience and knowledge base – we are keen to hear from you if you want to make a difference in the local community

Trail Destinations and Planning

  • Engagement with Moombahlene Aboriginal Land Council and NSW ALC to ensure consultation and respect of traditional owner’s land and future needs

  • Engagement with Land Managers to ensure ABT meets their land use requirements, enabling them to provide Landowner’s consent for trail development

  • Reviewing the Trail Destination Concept Plan to improve outcomes and ensure that a range of users can access the new trails

Community Engagement

  • Community Engagement Workshops were held in November 2020, with overwhelming support for the project!

  • The ABT team are keen to meet up with you again soon to listen to your feedback and hear your ideas – Community Workshop will be held in February 2023 with invitations to be issued soon!

  • We welcome your input and involvement as we work to create the “Tenterfield Adventure Tourism Destination”, please feel free to reach out to discuss any aspect of the project

Grant Funding

  • The ABT Tenterfield – Adventure Tourism Destination / Phase 1 – Mountain Bike Trail Network project is to be constructed on Public Lands with all funding obtained to be utilised for trail development, management of the Social Enterprise and importantly, maintenance of the trails so that rate payers and Tenterfield Shire Council are not burdened by these costs

  • The ABT project team has prepared and submitted a number of grant applications and each time we have improved the quality and content of our submissions.

  • In December 2022 ABT received confirmation that the NSW Government funding application for the Regional Tourism Activation Fund was successful, securing $4.1 million for Stage 1 of Angry Bull Trails.
