WHY IT MATTERS?
Regional communities like Tenterfield face ongoing challenges, including limited local employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
At the same time, the region has incredible natural assets, strong community spirit and untapped tourism potential.
Angry Bull Trails brings these together - using adventure tourism as a catalyst to create jobs, build skills and support a stronger, more resilient local economy.
Angry Bull Trails is designed to deliver long-term social and economic impact.
CREATING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
At the heart of Angry Bull Trails is a commitment to creating meaningful pathways for local young people.
Through our Youth Employment Program, we are developing opportunities for young people to gain real-world skills, experience and purpose across trail building, hospitality, tourism and business operations.
This includes hands-on training, mentoring and real job opportunities that support young people to build confidence and transition into long-term employment.
This is about more than training - it’s about creating a sense of purpose, belonging and a pathway into sustainable employment.
Angry Bull Trails is designed to drive visitation to Tenterfield and support local businesses.
As the project grows, it will:
Attract riders, families and visitors from across Australia
Increase overnight stays and local spending
Support cafes, accommodation providers and tourism operators
Create flow-on opportunities for new and existing businesses
By keeping visitors in the region longer and encouraging them to explore beyond the trails, the project helps build a more sustainable local economy.
STRENGHTENING THE LOCAL ECONOMY
BUILDING COMMUNITY AND CONNECTION
This project has been shaped by the community and continues to be supported by local volunteers, organisations and partners.
Angry Bull Trails is creating:
Opportunities for people to get involved and contribute
A shared sense of pride in place
Stronger connections between visitors and the local community
It’s about building something that the whole community can be part of - and benefit from.
DESIGNED FOR INCLUSION
Angry Bull Trails is being developed with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusion.
A significant portion of the trail network is being designed to support adaptive riding and people of all abilities, helping to create a destination where more people can experience the benefits of being active and outdoors.
This approach ensures the trails are welcoming, inclusive and accessible to a broader range of riders and visitors.
LOOKING AHEAD
As Angry Bull Trails continues to develop, the long-term impact will include:
Increased visitation to the region
New jobs and training opportunities for local people
Stronger local businesses and tourism operators
A nationally recognised adventure tourism destination
Lasting social and economic benefits for the community
